is a cool-season root vegetable known for its round, purple-and-yellow roots and slightly sweet, earthy flavor. It belongs to the mustard family, Brassicaceae, and is commonly classified botanically as Brassica napus var. napobrassica. Rutabaga is believed to have originated from a cross between turnip and cabbage. Both its root and young leaves can be eaten. It is nutritious and provides fiber, vitamin C, and several important minerals.
